Templates can be used but you must bring your own. If you use a template, you must give the option to your opponent to use it as well. Please inform your opponent if you plan on using a template. Both teams don’t have to use the same racking tool
8 Ball Rules-
8 does not count on the break
If you do, make the 8 on the break the shooter can either spot the 8 ball and continue shooting from that position they are in or they can re-rack that rack and the same shooter will break again. Other than this situation always stays in rotation.
Scratch on the 8 does not mean you lose. It is ball in hand for your opponent. Unless you scratch on the 8 and both the cue ball and ball both drop, then it is a loss.
Early 8 at any time is a loss and so is if you pocket the 8 in a wrong pocket
If the cue ball is pocketed or jumps off the table, it is ball in hand for the opponent.
If any other ball jumps off the table on the break or any other time it is a foul and the ball stays down and ball in hand for your opponent
10 Ball Rules-
There is NOT a 3 foul rule
When racking the 1 ball goes on the spot and the 2&3 balls go in the back corners of the rack
10 ball does not count on the break in any pocket. If you make the 10 ball it is still that teams turn and spot the 10.
10 ball can be a combo shot after the break for a win. Must be called
If the cue ball is pocketed or jumps off the table, it is ball in hand for the opponent.
When on the 10 ball if you foul it’s BIH
If any other ball jumps off the table on the break or any other time it is a foul and the ball stays down and ball in hand for your opponent. If the 10 jumps on the table, it is not a loss but a foul. You spot the 10 and its ball in hand for your opponent
If you accidentally knock a ball in with your hand, clothes, cue or any object then you re spot that ball. This is not a foul
Pushing in 10 ball-
You can push after the break. If you do so, your opponent has the option to shoot from that position or give it back to you. If they do give it back, then it goes to the next person in the rotation. (Ex. Team 1 Players A&B vs Team 2 Players C&D, Team 1 Player A breaks and then decides to push, Team 2 Player C gives it back to Team 1, it is then Team 1 Player B’s turn. After this the next time Team 2 shoots it is now the turn of Team 2 Player D. Team 2 Player C gave up their shot when they pushed)
Option-
If a player illegally pockets a ball, their opponent has the option to shoot from that position or give it back to the team that made the illegal ball.
