Each team will get a scoresheet, and you input your roster and follow it
Flip a coin for home or visitor team. Winner of the flip can pick home or away. Home team will break first
Scoresheets will be provided for roster line up, breaks, and scoring
You can’t win or lose on the break.
If you foul on the break such as a miscue, it's your opponent’s option to break.
Match Time Limit-
Teams will be put on a 45 second shot clock for any match that has not finished 2.5 hours after it has started. In addition to that, if the match hasn’t finished 3 hours after it has started, then each game won will be counted at two wins instead of one for the duration of the match.
Mosconi Style-
There will be both singles games and scotch doubles games during the match.
Singles games-
No timeouts
Scotch Doubles-
Each team will have 1 time out per rack
Hill/Hill-
If the match goes hill/hill, the captains will flip for the last break and then the very last game will be a 1 game Scotch Quadruples game (all the players will be involved). In this one, if the game is 10 ball then the 10 ball must be the last ball made. You can combo the 10 at any time (then spot it) to continue shooting but the 10 ball must be last. It can be any of the 4 players (sub included) on the roster, in any order. As long as they are below the 2200 cap. This 1 very last game determines the match. The team that wins the flip will tell their opponents what order they will shoot in and then vice versa. Teams can choose whatever order they want to play in for this one game. THERE IS NOT A TIMEOUT FOR THIS ONE GAME
Timeouts-
Make sure it is VERY clear that you have not used this timeout before talking to your partner
It is not a foul if a player tells their partner to make sure their opponents know what they are doing
It is not a foul if you ask if you have used or not used your timeout
Both players can call timeouts.
Both players can waive off a timeout and this is not considered a timeout
If you have a used your timeout and you talk to your partner while y’all are shooting, first time will be a hard warning and any time after that warning will be a ball in hand foul. TD must give the warning.
In a time out and w/ball in hand either player can move the cue
Both players can be at the table at the same time and can use any object(s) to help their partner
If you are not involved in the game, please do not talk to the players while they are at the table shooting
Breaking and Racking-
Breaks will be shown on scoresheets
Rack your own
Templates can be used but you must bring your own. If you use a template, you must give the option to your opponent to use it as well. Please inform your opponent if you plan on using a template. Both teams don’t have to use the same racking tool
8 Ball Rules-
8 does not count on the break
If you do, make the 8 on the break the shooter can either spot the 8 ball and continue shooting from that position they are in or they can re-rack that rack and the same shooter will break again. Other than this situation always stays in rotation.
Scratch on the 8 does not mean you lose. It is ball in hand for your opponent. Unless you scratch on the 8 and both the cue ball and ball both drop, then it is a loss.
Early 8 at any time is a loss and so is if you pocket the 8 in a wrong pocket
If the cue ball is pocketed or jumps off the table, it is ball in hand for the opponent.
If any other ball jumps off the table on the break or any other time it is a foul and the ball stays down and ball in hand for your opponent
10 Ball Rules-
There is NOT a 3 foul rule
When racking the 1 ball goes on the spot and the 2&3 balls go in the back corners of the rack
10 ball does not count on the break in any pocket. If you make the 10 ball it is still that teams turn and spot the 10.
10 ball can be a combo shot after the break for a win. Must be called
If the cue ball is pocketed or jumps off the table, it is ball in hand for the opponent.
When on the 10 ball if you foul it’s BIH
If any other ball jumps off the table on the break or any other time it is a foul and the ball stays down and ball in hand for your opponent. If the 10 jumps on the table, it is not a loss but a foul. You spot the 10 and its ball in hand for your opponent
If you accidentally knock a ball in with your hand, clothes, cue or any object then you re spot that ball. This is not a foul
Pushing in 10 ball-
You can push after the break. If you do so, your opponent has the option to shoot from that position or give it back to you. If they do give it back, then it goes to the next person in the rotation. (Ex. Team 1 Players A&B vs Team 2 Players C&D, Team 1 Player A breaks and then decides to push, Team 2 Player C gives it back to Team 1, it is then Team 1 Player B’s turn. After this the next time Team 2 shoots it is now the turn of Team 2 Player D. Team 2 Player C gave up their shot when they pushed)
Option-
If a player illegally pockets a ball, their opponent has the option to shoot from that position or give it back to the team that made the illegal ball.
Point Cushion-
If you sign up and your team is under 2200 at that time, TD will allow a 20-point cushion per team
Tournament Payouts-
1-11 top 2
12-15 top 3
16-20 top 4
